| Customer Reviews:
One of Daltrey's best July 16, 2004 Eric Saderholm (Elko, NV United States) I have worn out 2 records and several cassette tapes of this recording in the last 20 years and it is great to find it in CD format. This is one impressive rock-n-roll powerhouse and a must-own for any Who fan (and that I am). The muscular leader of the Who belts out ferocious rockers as well as mellow ballads on this one. His voice has never been better. The vocals on Free Me will part your hair while the delivery of the subtle Without Your Love will sooth your soul. The songs are just flat-out good. You will find it hard to get this one out of the player. Buy it and enjoy.
H*A*L*Y*C*O*N September 28, 2002 al & jennie whiteman (Washington, D.C. (the Emerald City - in OZ!)) A rocker's collectable (tranquill/meditative enhancement) with rare instrumentals and mind twisting lyrics; "Free Me, My Time is Gonna Come, & Bitter Twisted" stimulates me when I need the unconventional, sentient, and objective realms for day-to-day life. I found the album at a garage sale and bought a turn-table just to play it. Now that it's a CD I ought to buy a car to equalize its "radicalness" (justify/share it) & get it blasting on the road, maybe the prototype RX8 would get it the perfect respect. For now I'll have to settle on my vintage '83 RX7. I believe this to be the essential Roger Daltrey. While the movie didn't phase me the soundtrack has altered my standard of music since I first heard these tunes. But, find out for yourself! Since then Cult has been the lone artist(s) that has sustained my modern appetite for meaninful-purposeful rock generated by this solo record where Roger D. stands way above his contemporaries. If you liked 'Tommy & {Bowie's} The Man Who Fell to Earth' then you must own this little known CD (review the movie) & if you like the 'Who' & classical rockers like Floyd & Clapton-then Right on! HONESTLY it single handedly changed my taste & need for lyrical rock-n-roll, for blaring vocals, rhythms & percussions taking one through raging peaks & provocative troughs. "Buy IT, Play IT & Guard IT" (Vini, Vidi, Veci)
