Que dire de ce livre preface par stephen king ( une reference ) si ce n'est que l'histoire , l'epaisseur psychologique des personnages et l'atmosphere noire qui s'en degagent en font un pur chef d'oeuvre du roman noir . A noter que THE NARROWS la suite de THE POET est bien moins reussie ( quelques incoherences qui ne cadrent pas avec le personnage central ) ; ceci dit , c'est quand meme un excellent livre qu'il vous faudra lire pour avoir le fin mot de l'histoire ....!!!!!

Suspense, action, romance, et enigme... ce livre a TOUT ce qu'il faut ! L'intrigue vous emmenera a la poursuite d'un tueur diabolique (pour moi un des meilleurs "mechants"), a travers une enquete policiere et journalistique menee tambour battant du debut a la fin par deux personnages attachants et complexes.
Un des meilleurs de Connelly !
Style agreable a lire, anglais facile a comprendre, A LIRE de toute urgence si ce n'est pas encore fait !

I usually like the thrillers by M. Connelly, but I absolutely loved this one. The plot is rich, full of twists and the characters are so credible. It is also fascinating to read about a real smart and sick serial-killer wondering all along who he is, who will stop him and when.... A great story-telling tour de force by Connelly.

Ayant ete decu par Chasing the Dime du meme auteur, j'ai decide de lui accorde une deuxieme chance avec The Poet. Je ne regrette pas! Ce livre, c'est un suspense incroyable qui ne fait qu'augmenter du debut a la fin. J'ai beau lire les livres lentement, par morceaux de 20 a 40 pages en general, et meme sur les livres qualifies de "page-turners", je n'ai pas pu arreter lors des dernieres 90 pages. Le style est tres agreable a lire (contrairement a Chasing The Dime a mon avis), et on rentre tout a fait dans le monde du heros. Un chef d'oeuvre.

Excellent reading - one of those can't put it down books. Interesting characters, suspense, good plot, - what more can you want?
