This book was an excellent addition to my library. I would encourage anyone who appreciates art to read this book. Should you be travelling to Italy, particularly Florence and Rome, read this book before going. It sheds whole new light on the experience there. Remember if you visit the Sistine Chapel, wear long pants, full shoes and sleeves. In other words, respectable clothes or you won't get in. Irving Stone offers a string of historical biographies, this one being one of his best. Highly recommed. Very descriptive.
