5 out of 5 stars Sugar shoes are sweet!   November 17, 2008
    J. A. Rogers (Reading UK)
Excellent boots, I highly recommened them. I did buy these shoes on impluse and definatly haven't regreted it. They are soft and comfortable, yet also hard wearing, surprisingly more sturdy than they look.
I was also amazed at quite how quickly they came, ordered them on the thursday night received them on sat morn, a very impressed and happy customer!

    5 out of 5 stars Sugar Origami - brilliant   November 5, 2008
    Lucy Douglas (Scottish Borders)
I ordered these as a Christmas present for my 14 y.o. daughter who is into Japanese punk (I think) and ordered them early as quite a few reviews said they took a long time. Received them within 36 hours and they are FAB, bright, individual, cool and great value. Can't recommend highly enough and am getting myself some too.

4 out of 5 stars Unique and stylish!   October 31, 2008

Well I recieved these boots yesterday morning and decided to wear them out for a meal that evening. First impressions were that they look exactly how they appear online; colourful, pretty and warm!

My only 'complaint' so far is that for a size 5 they are quite snug and by the end of the evening my large toes were a little tender. The rubber cap is quite hard, however I am hoping that this is just because they are new and will soften when I wear them in a bit.

Overall a good buy and I am very happy.

I bought these for full price somewhere else and was a bit wary of how expensive they were... but they are well worth it! I've worn them almost everyday since! They're so comfy it's unbelieveable... like putting a duvet on your feet. As long as you can put up with the "are they made out of old curtain" remarks, and can put up with having to do up the ever-undoing laces all the time, you'll be in love!

    2 out of 5 stars A mixed review ........   April 11, 2008

I ordered two of these boots in size 6 (pink seventies plaid, and batik), and found the quality varied enormously between the two pairs.

    Seventies Pink Plaid:
My first reaction on taking these out of the box was "wow" - the colour is so vivid/zingy ... they are extremely cute, but I suspect that I will be too shy to wear them outdoors, and that they will be worn indoors in the guise of trendy slippers :-)
The plaid is textured, not printed which is a nice effect, but some pilling/bobbling was already evident, I worry that this may increase with wear. As others have pointed out elsewhere, the rubber toe cap is cheapish looking, but the brightness of the print makes this not so noticeable.
So far, they feel comfortable - the upper inner is fleece lined which makes them cosy and probably suitable for winter wear only. I am not a large size 6, normally taking size five and a half where available, but the rubber toe cap seems a tiny bit 'snug' - I wonder have others found the same thing? I am sure that I will not notice this once they are 'broken in'.
Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I rate them 3 out of 5.

    Batik:
These are going to be sent straight back to Amazon.
My reaction on taking them out of the box was, "how drab/dull" - they do not look anywhere near as good as the picture on amazon. They look much 'cheaper' than the seventies plaid - the printed effect is not so nice as the textured material in the plaid boots. The stitch quality I found to be absolutely atrocious, the worst I have ever seen in a pair of boots. The stitching was broken round the front of one of the shoes, enabling one to see the inside of the boot, and there was also unravelling at the side seams of both.
What really took the biscuit was when I tried to put them on - even though they were the same size as the seventies plaid above - size 6 - and I confirmed that by checking the label inside both pairs, when I lined them up side by side with the seventies plaid, the batik boots were substantially smaller - they cannot possibly be described as a UK size 6. I therefore rate these boots 1 out of 5.

Go for the seventies plaid, people! :-)
