It did not match expectations February 18, 2008 Gabriella Covacci (London - UK) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This toy is not good value for money! The train is supposed to follow the pen's track but unless the track is really thick it will not know wehre to go, my boys found it frustrating. The Pens came apart almost immediately nad the train "lost" its sense of direction pretty quickly. A Christmas present that by the end of January was relegated to the bottom of the toybox.
not so great... October 31, 2007 Johanna (Hampshire, England) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
My children tired of this quite quickly and it fast degenerated into a crumpled heap! I think it has limited appeal, the pens (agree v v stingy on numbers)got dry and bunged up. It would have been better if it had more than one colour underneath, that insipid grey blue got v dull after a while. I do think Thomas engine made a nice tune though. I wouldn't buy another aqua draw product, My advice is to stick to the Brio wooden Thomas trains for Thomas fix and good old crayons and plain paper for artisic moments.
no mess art December 28, 2006 Mr. M. C. J. Harris 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
both my 5 year old and my 15 month old like this toy. picture after picture is drawn. a stimulating and educational toy. the train music is fab. only negative comment is that the train will follow any mark on the mat, any crease or indentation. overall this is a toy that will keep kids entertained for ages.
Aquadraw October 25, 2006 MWP (Sussex, UK) 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
An excellent product - my two year old loves it, and even our eight month old son is fascinated by Thomas chugging round the track. I think in order to make full use of the set children would need to be a little older (3+ to use it unsupervised) as drawing a good track for Thomas to run on is not easy for little ones. No ink, no paint, no mess to clear up - an excellent idea, and made even better by having Thomas and his cheery tune playing.
Thomas is Always a Winner November 26, 2005 J. Chippindale (England) 69 out of 71 found this review helpful
Getting crayons and felt tip pen off furniture and walls is an absolute nightmare, but one you do not need to worry about with this toy. The pen and the roller that creates the tracks will in effect only draw on the play mat.A second bonus is that everything can be folded up and put away very quickly. That's the grown ups sorted, so lets get on to the children. I do not know of any child who at some stage in their lives is not in love with Thomas the Tank Engine and this is an ideal toy for them. The roller provided draws train track on the play mat and to young children (and adults) this must seem almost magical. What is even better is that Thomas follows the tracks that have been drawn, even more magical. If it loses its way the train tries to find the tracks again and if it can't eventually switches itself off. How good is that? There is also a 'pen' that is filled with water and allows freehand drawing on the mat and only on the mat. The train makes the noise a real train makes and plays a little of the Thomas tune. Best of all the track eventually fades giving the children the opportunity to draw another track layout. No small pieces to get lost, no paper to pick up and throw away. No pencils to sharpen, or new felt tips to buy and most importantly Happy Children. What more could you want!!
