Guilty Pleasure November 26, 2007 Reedy (Bucks) This is one of Jill Mansells best books, it is funny, full of well rounded characters that you can't help but love (or hate) I have just finished reading this book for the 5th time in 12 years - it is like a vintage Jilly Cooper, an old friend that you can read and know that you will enjoy it again and again.
A particularly good Mansell Read! December 3, 2003 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
I've read loads of Jill Mansell's books, but this one stays in my mind especially...don't know why, but it does! The story is clever and witty with lots of interesting characters and the plot is believable. Also, it's not too much of a slushyily romantic read - Mansell has a wickedly ironic streak too! I'm looking forward to reading more but this one is especially recommended!
Fantastic June 24, 2003 Kirsty (South Yorkshire, England) 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
This is quite easily one of the best books I have read. This was one of the first books I read by Jill Mansell(I am now on the hunt for all of them!) and was thoroughly delighted with this book. It is funny, unreal buy yet at the same time you can identify with the charcters. Although I found the ending quite predictable there were many twists and turns along the way which is always a good thing in a book. Janey, Maxine and Guy are fantastic absolutly sheer delight to read about. I loved Guy's kids they were almost as good as Guy himself (who sounds wonderful in the book) and Bruno was a charcter on his own. Fantastic... I'm now on my second read through it and still laughing at the same parts even though I know what's going to happen!
Fantastic - I Loved this! March 11, 2002 22 out of 25 found this review helpful
I have read quite a few of Jill Mansells novels but I have to say this is by far my favourite...Catchy, intriuging, funny...un-putdownable...Janey, Maxine & Guy are some of my favourite characters yet!
Thoroughly entertaining. January 25, 2002 9 out of 15 found this review helpful
Frothy and lighthearted, but unable to put it down. Another winner from Mansell.
