5 out of 5 stars Fabulous item!   September 28, 2008

Mine was a gift so I knew little about these items but I did want to be able to display both recent and old (pre digital) photographs. Simple - scanned in photos from aeons ago - digital images were superb, added digi photos from recent years - including video clips and put them all on a memory stick. Frame is set up on a timer so switches itself on and off every day - has hundreds of images in the slide show and is fantastic!! I love it. Looking to buy as presents now for elderly relatives who have no computer - we'll be able to set up memory stick and they will have slide show runnong at whatever speed they choose - my dad loves watching mine and he will soon have his own! I love it - thanks to my daughters who bought it for me.

Kodak Easyshare 10" Digital Photo Frame

The screen is wider than normal, but this isn't obvious from the info displayed. Most other frames are 1.4:1, and this one is more like 1.7:1 - not much use if your pictures are the standard size!

3 out of 5 stars Great pictures, poor functionality   February 24, 2008

I bought this as a present for my elderly parents. The picture quality is great but the software controlling the functionality is poor.

The photos are presented in the same order every time you switch on. When you got half way through 4000 photos in the morning. The last thing you want is to have to go through the first 2000 again next time you switch it on. Why on Earth doesn't the software allow you to play photos in random order; or to remember the last photo displayed; or to allow you to select the photo you want to start from. This may not sound terrible but trust me, it's extremely frustrating and makes using an otherwise great product, plain tedious. This has taken all the pleasure out of using the photo frame...for the time being...perhaps Kodak can update the software with more sensible functionality for every day use such as I envisage?!

Incidentally, it is possible to scroll down through photos until you get to the one you want to view. However, the scroll function runs at a snails pace and simply isn't practical.

My other gripe is its shape, although pretty much the same as most others. Why aren't these things made square so photos taken in portrait can be displayed at a reasonable size?!

    5 out of 5 stars A fantastic frame   February 14, 2008

After months of research, reading reviews and going to PC World, John Lewis and..... I finally got this model and I am very pleased with it.

The frame itself looks great and unlike some similarly-priced rivals, it does not look cheap. In a rare case if you're not happy, you may get a glass panel from Kodak website and replace it.

The set-up process is fairly easy and quick. If you don't want to get into the settings you can have it up and running with pressing just 3 buttons.

I should say the resolution is stunning; it is as good as Philips but half the price. With no colour exaggeration or contrast issue.

Viewing angle is never a problem, needless to say this frame uses a TFT LCD frame and by nature it looks darker if you look at it from 45 degrees up.

Last but not the least; it is one of the few digital frames benefiting from a stereo speaker. It does not do as much a massive Hi Fi system, but great to play back a piece of piano or guitar. Its meant to be for background music and not a music player anyways.
