Very good afforadable camera November 22, 2007 Johannes H. N. Werner (Guernsey, United Kingdom) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
This has been my first digital camera and I don't know how easy other cameras are but this one is very simple. I quickly leared all the functions and how to operate the camera. I baught this camera depite the other reviews saying how bulky in size it was but when I got it it seeamed average size. Its only quite big while taking photos because the lens comes out. I found the 6 digital zoom quite handy. You can also video record with sound. not sure for how long. Its 8.1 mega pixels makes the photos look very high quality the only problem is they take so long to email because the photos are quite large in size but you can reduce the quality if you would like to. Its got other feautres such as if you take a photo of the sea to make the sea look a strong blue colour. Also to take photos in low light areas with out using a flash. The batteries last a very long time and it comes with a battery charger
Chunky, but easy to use, monkey camera October 28, 2007 Mr. J. D. Mills (Nottingham UK) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
The camera is very good, easy to use and takes great pictures, but a bit chunky (more than the amazon picture leads you to believe) Do not buy the Sony LCS-CST Soft Carrying Case For Slim Cybershot with the camera, as recommended by Amazon, as it is too small for the camera.
Great Camera - Too Chunky! October 7, 2007 N. Patel (London) 18 out of 25 found this review helpful
I bought this for my Mum for her holiday. Firstly the order didn't arrive and when I rang Amazon they said it looked like it had been lost in the post. They were very helpful and ordered another one for me which arrived the next day. But on to the camera! The usability and picture quality are excellent and the quick image function works well for me as with my old camera everything seemed to blur, while with this it takes crisp quality images. The main and killing aspect of this camera is that its far too large. The image shown on Amazon shows it to be far thinner than it actually is. We were looking for something thinner so it could fit in either my pocket or my Mum's purse... this unfortunately is far too large for either. If you dont mind a camera on the slightly larger size then I would definately recommend this. On the other hand, if you're looking for something that you can carry around with you on city breaks without it being on display for the whole world to see (and steal) then this is not for you!
excellent value and quality October 7, 2007 Jk Stirzaker (notts) 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
I was fairly wary of buying this camera - 8.1 megapixels and X6 zoom at this price - there had to be something wrong with this camera, but as a point and shoot, with easily understandable function settings - this can't be beat. the camera is slightly more chunky that the usual sony cybershot cameras, but the camera makes up for this with the quality of the photos, so even someone as technophobe as me can use it very easily, and get the best from it. I have used other digital cameras, and the functions have been very fiddly, so I have never used them, but within a day, I was able to use the macro with no tears, and could switch from portrait to landscape without fail. For a point and shoot I was able to take what appear to be professional quality pictures, very easily. The only drawback with this camera, which i was suprised about as it is a Sony, and thought it came as standard, was the lack of a view finder. I had to rely on the LCD screen, which in bright sunlight makes it very difficult to see the image on the screen; therefore relied on a large memory chip to take a number of photos of the same image to make sure that at least one was usable, but seeing as many more expensive models than this from other makers do not rovide view finders, this is a small gripe to make about an otherwise great value quality camera.
