Product Description Adventure is yours for the taking with the 1030 SW from Olympus! This camera is waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and crushproof, and goes everywhere you do! Its designed for use in even the most extreme conditions, because its waterproof to 10 metres and supports loads of up to 100 kg. It withstands falls of up to 2 metres, and resists temperatures as low as -10 C! The 1030 SW is also equipped with a 10.1-megapixel sensor and a 3.6x wide-angle optical zoom, meaning your photos will turn out perfectly each and every time. Its digital image stabiliser compensates for blur, while its BrightCapture technology improves the conditions for low light shooting. The 2.7 Hyper Crystal II LCD screen on the 1030 SW means you can monitor your creations in full sunlight and at awkward angles. The 1030 SWs other features include a host of scene modes and a face detection function, which are perfect for those of you taking your first steps in the world of digital photography.

Excelent Camera- Import Tho... August 27, 2008 Jason Hill Excelent Camera- Very Easy to use- just point and shoot- underwater ability is fantastic: Rated at 10m, but ive taken it down to 15m with no problems... It takes a bashing! Although the description states you can only record 30 second clips, if you upgrade to the latest firmware it will allow you to take unlimited clips, although it will only allow high quality clips if a XD card is being used (not SD). SD cards can still record unlimited but only in Low Quality Mode. A note to watch out for tho- These cameras are imported from the US- Which means the charger has a US plug- The seller includes a US to UK adaptor, but its a bit bulky and not what i expeced. Other than that, a great buy!
Good bit of kit, until it lets the water in .. August 25, 2008 D. Shepherd (Somerset, UK) I bought this back in June to take on holiday & was very pleased with it to begin with. Great fun and very versatile in conditions you would never normally dream of taking a camera (I took it white water rafting in Borneo with no problem). But then it stopped working while snorkelling in just 2m of water... not as dependable as I thought.
I love it! August 19, 2008 Jon (London) I sail a lot, and being able to have a small camera in my pocket (as opposed to the bulky waterproof casing I had previously) has been fantastic. I can be completely relaxed if it is raining and I am using it in the boat, I was even relaxed when my brother had it in his pocket and took an unexpected dip over the side! The pictures have come out great, I feel it is my ideal camera, small, waterproof, and great pictures. :-)
great camera but definately not scratchproof August 17, 2008 A. White (Turkey) I decided to buy this camera as i live abroad and spend a lot of time in the pool or snorkeling in the sea. I love the camera and it does take excellent underwater pictures but in the swimming pool you can't see the screen so you just have to point and hope for the best. Also before i got it i read on here that its scratchproof and thought great.. but after a few days it was covered in scratches so it now looks like a battered old camera.. not a lovely new one!
READ THIS REVIEW. I TELL IT HOW IT IS!! August 14, 2008 H. Abdulla (LONDON) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I owned the previews model ( MJU 770) which I LOVED to bits! NOW I have just purchased this new model which is even better!. This camera is no doubt the best ALL AROUND camera. I usually like to take my camera out to a night club... this camera is made for it as I ant worried if I get it wet!, I ant worried when I get too drunk and drop it nor Im I worried to put in my back pocket as I can sit on it all day without a problem (except a sore bum)... I have also taken this on holiday and let me tell you something!! Having a waterproof camera is such a weight of the mind as YOU DO NOT NEED TO WORRY about it getting wet. And the underwater pics and videos are great to show your friends/family about your holiday. Seriously this camera is the best I have ever had (and ive gone thru a lot of them). It also feels so indestructible as it's in a solid metal casing so if your mates pee you off... just chuck it at them like I do/did. Finial thoughts..... BUT THIS AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED.. I PROMISE Thank you once again OLYMPUS.....great job :o)
