Amatuer Review! - Excellent December 11, 2007 M. A. Smith (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am in no way a professional and both my wife and myself were extremely sceptical about buying this sort of machine with perhaps a tendency to clog up at the first sniff of a weed! However, with various bushes needed to be cut down to size we thought that we might as well give it a try. Up to date I have managed to clear a huge anount of various shrub with branches matching the recommended width (Along with some maybe a bit bigger). Having read other reviews I ensured that any flowery/leafy stuff was "pulled" through with thicker woody material and, so far, I have not had too much of a problem. It is sometimes easy to get a little complacent and try "bigger" items but, in all fairness, if anything does get jammed it is a matter of reversing the motor and allowing the items to be pulled through with a few attempts. On the whole I am extremely happy with this item - it has done all we set out to do. It is not a professional shredder for tree trucks but it saoon becomes a simple matter of acknoweldging what will go though and what will not. Particular problems I have found are with large knotted branches but even these will go thorugh ( if not too big) with a bit of "reverse and go". This machine has worked for me and I am very happy with the results which are now rotting down nicely ready to be spread on the borders in a few weeks or so.

Bosch was the first to use the worm screw to cut and shred larger tree branches.I have always bought Bosch tools, having had a few cheap and nasty brands in past years. The build quality is always good and solid.
Unstoppable for woody waste but no good for soft material September 30, 2007 Neil Strong (Northumberland, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This shredder will eat almost any branches that you can feed into it and is almost unstoppable for shredding tree branches and woody prunings, but for softer waste ( flower stems, leaves etc ) forget it. It clogs easily and finding the right balance of woody waste and leaf waste is almost impossible. For my garden, which is 1/3 acre and mostly herbaceous borders, I need something that's happier with softer material, so I'm looking for another model this autumn.
My first shredder July 8, 2007 K. Cussen (Christchurch, England) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
As I was buying a shredder for the first time I really had nothing to compare it with so I bought the best available in store. I was really impressed with it on all counts. It is easy to manouver, relatively quiet considering what it is doing, very easy to use and it actually becomes quite addictive to use. I cannot believe I have taken this long to get around to buying one and it has taken a lot of the hard work out of garden waste disposal. I was impressed with the relative ease that the machine deals with quite large branches and the first time used it for around 5 hours with no drop off in performance. I would definately recommend to prospective purchasers.

Its rare these days that when you get something home after spending your cash that it lives up to expectations, but this shredder exceeded all of mine. I have a large strip of farm hedge running through my garden, full of hawthorn along with trees such as cherry and oak, and lots of bushy plants scattered around. This thing just eats them all, and generates a wonder mulch in the process. I ran this thing for 7 days practically non-stop and it handled almost everything that could fit in the slot at the top. On the rare occasions it did jam, with thick hardwood branches, you just flick it into reverse and it clears. Too much leafy stuff will clog it, so mix in the branchy stuff to keep it pulling everything through. Its quiet too, makes less noise than an electric lawnmower so you wont feel like you are disturbing the neighbourhood.
