Faulty remote control February 6, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Like others I found this heater good. The remote control was great at first - it could switch on, time, adjust the heat and make the heater oscillate. Within a day it failed. Every knob simply adjusted the heat. Timing, swinging and turning off had to be done by the controls on the heater itself which are low and awkward on the remote model. After telephoning the importers who could not help, I sent the heater back by Amazon's excellent return service and while waiting its replacement bought another locally. This too worked well for a day and then developed exactly the same fault. Unfortunately the timer, which I need, is only available on the remotely controlled model. I wonder if any others have had the same trouble.

I'm very happy with this heater. Using two bars is more than enough, I've never used the 4. I'm using it in a small room and it's fine, I don't know about large rooms. It's silent, no noise at all. It gives a bright light but it doesn't bother me at all.

I'm currently sitting in my bedroom, its -2 degrees outside but its tropical in here with the Halogen heater. 2 out of the 3 bars on is more than enough to keep a medium sized room warm. Its also bright enough so I dont really need the light on. It also has a slow rotation feature which is nice enough but it heats the room well without it. A friend of mine has one for his garage too. Top purchase.
