Thoroughly underwhelmed.... September 1, 2008 D. J. King 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Was expecting great things, given the glowing reviews. Have to say out of the box I was disappointed with the sharpness, cutting anything requires a little 'push' to start, whereas I'm used to my previous knife just gliding through tomatoes, onions etc. I'll use my whetstone on it and see if this can be improved. I also found the knife very 'handle heavy'. I'll persevere, see if I can get used to this one, either that or it'll find it's way into the bin. It is cheap so maybe I shouldn't grumble, but I don't think it's anywhere near worth the praise that have been heaped on it here.
Quality Knifes May 5, 2008 S. E. Pearson 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
These knifes are simply the best I have ever had, they have excelent balance and I would highly recommend them to anybody. They and be sharpened to a razor sharp edge with very little work on the steel. I liked the first one I purchased so much I ended up buying the entire range.
What a knife! March 3, 2008 E. Sandalls 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having already bought the paring and utility knives from the same range, I finally stopped my search for a chef's knife and bought this one. Too many knives are expensive way beyond what an amateur cook could ever justify, too many are uncomfortable to use, and too many don't do a great job. This knife is ridiculously good value for money. My budget was 75 (!), and I would not have complained if this one had taken all of that. First, look: It is obviously well designed and made. Second, hold: I like to start by "holding hands" with a knife. That tells me if the knife has really been designed for easy, comfortable use. Third, use: Beautiful to use, just beautiful. Sharp, holds its edge, facilitates all manners of use, etc., etc. These three knives are among the best purchases I have made anywhere on the web, for whatever product. Unreservedly recommended! UPDATE. This cook's knife has now been my almost only knife for many months: still just as brilliant, sharp, comfortable, practical, obviously durable. The only thing cheap about this knife was on the price-ticket, and I would be foolish to complain about that.
