Fast, good looking, easy to clean machine, makes smooth ice cream or frozen yoghurt November 14, 2008 S. Page (UK) Out of the box this is a very elegant looking machine compared to most ice cream makers. I had a Philips one some years ago and this unit is no noiser than that, they all seem to make some noise due to the gearing. Freeze the ice bucket in your freezer for 24 hours and its ready. Put on the lid with the paddle and motor and away it goes, pour your mixture in and freezing begins immediately. If the mixture actually freezes completely the machine changed direction to remove the blockage, hence the gearing noise I suspect. In around 15 minutes or less I had lovely frozen yoghurt. This unit is great for small-medium loads 1-2 people maybe three at a stretch but if your looking for family sized then this is maybe a little too small for that. There is nothing nicer than fresh home made lemon sorbet on a hot summers day, trust me or try raspberry (even those from a can) is great with any pie or cake.
Fantastic & Quick October 10, 2008 D. Tordoff (Yorkshire) I was in two minds about buying an ice cream maker but in the end opted for this one. The reviews were mixed but more in favour of this machine. I ahve to say that this is the easiest machine I have used - in 20mins you have ice cream...how easy is that. Ive not tried any of the recipes in the book that came with it, I got mine from the internet. I would definately recommend this machine. One word of warning though don't over fill it as it expands when it freezes.
tilly trouble July 25, 2008 TILLY (ENGLAND) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
ICE CREAM MAKER ARRIVED TWO DAYS AFTER ORDERING, HAD MY INGREDIENTS READY AND COULDN'T WAIT TO HAVE A GO. PUT THE BOWL IN THE FREEZER OVERNIGHT AND BINGO DELICIOUS ICE CREAM AT THE VERY FIRST ATTEMPT. HOPE IT WASN'T A FLUKE, I'M NOT USUALLY THAT SUCCESSFULL. I THINK IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO GO WRONG WITH THIS MACHINE.
Easy Ice Cream May 16, 2008 Muffin (London) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Purchased this ice cream maker on a whim, had seen one used on a TV programme. Read the Amazon reviews and decided on the litre size and ordered one. Ordered and delivered and used within less than a week. I have rushed from my first attempt at Vanilla ice cream and am so impressed have had to write my review. The amount of mixture seemed very small in the preparation stages, but by the time it has churned it had doubled in size. Will now not be buying anymore shop bought ice cream and already in overtime thinking of the many varities of ice cream I will be making. The cost of making the ice cream was minimal, the most expensive item was the vanilla pods (I used a third of a pod instead of a half), good essence could be used instead. Follow the instructions carefully. This is a great a buy, I'm delighted.
