Philips HQ8150 November 27, 2008 Mr. Andrew Hull (UK) This Philips HQ8150 shaver is the best shave I have ever had. My face is very sensertive and has allways been sore after shaveing. I have wet and dry shaved over the years, but by far this Philips HQ8150 is the best. I get a nice close shave and no soreness. Thanks Philips.
More than slightly unhappy... October 29, 2008 E. Binnington (UK) 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
This product was exaclty what I expected and my boyfriend loves it, but it came with a European plug, and I think this is absolutely unacceptable given that I bought it from the UK Amazon, and I now have to go out and buy an adaptor just so my boyfriend can use it. This is the second time it's happened to us in a matter of weeks with different products and is not good enough. I paid good money for this item and we expected that it would be in a state that could be used upon delivery, which it is clearly not. If the item cannot be used in the UK it should not be sold on Amazon.co.uk, or should at least state that the product is made to fit European outlets.
Clock, what clock? October 27, 2008 E. Roberts 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
"Charge stand with clock", I thought - great, ideal present. Imagine my complete horror to find it didn't come with a clock on the charge stand. Amazon's customer care over it was equally abysmal!
Why pay more? October 23, 2008 Mr. C. Buck (Mansfield, England) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've had this shaver for 2 months now and I have to say I would Recommend it to all. This shaver looks and feel great in your hand. It's not heavy and the blue light around the on/off button makes it look very smart. Very well built I feel this could last as long as my last Phillips which I had for over 15 years. I'm most impressed with the charge time, I shave everyday and I've only just charged it agian for the third time WOW. It's also easy to clean and maintain. Most importantly the shave quality is very good. It's not going to shave as close as a razor so don't expect it too but what you can expect is a good quick close shave with little fuss & irritation. If I would to be critical of anything it would be that yes sometimes it does miss a longer or tuff hair on my neck so I have to go over the same area a few times but it does the job in the end and to be ultra critical when it's in it's stand you can't just pick it up out of it, you have to use two hands - one to hold the stand down and the other lift the shaver, I find this slightly anoying. Before I bought this shaver I did some research and checked it againt other models and I'm sure I made the right choice. So this Shaver does not have a "Multi-purpose LED display" or a "Replacement head/cleaning indicator" but I can press a button and it opens up so I can see if it needs cleaning I don't need a light to tell me this and I can tell if it needs replacement heads because it stops cutting closely oh and one more thing, you can tell if the battery is running low because it starts to slow down and with it's 3 minutes quick charge you'll never be stuck with a dead shaver. There are simular more expensive models out there but why bother, they will do the same job but cost you more! Finally I would rate this shaver 4.5/5
Hopelss, absolutely pitiful October 4, 2008 Rac Mcwilliam (UK) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
After 25 years of wet shaving with a razor, I figured I'd try an electric shaver to save some time each morning so my wife purchased this for me. I don't know whether this one was defective or not, but it was completely hopeless at shaving. It really sounded like it was simply turning the 'blades' far too slow to be effective even after a full overnight charge. Although, I could eventually get most of my chin/cheeks shaved (although poorly), I just couldn't use this to shave my neck at all - it simply doesn't work. I'm returning it to Amazon as it's not fit for purpose. Very disappointed with this item.
