Over priced October 24, 2007 Ms. C. Embleton (Telford, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had high hopes for this alarm clock that I had paid nearly 30 for but apart from the projector I have been disappointed on every front: The nature sounds are nice enough, although the loop is noticeably short so you hear the same sounds frequently which can be annoying when listening for extended periods. The display is way too bright even on the lowest setting - it's like having a lamp on! I resorted to covering up the display at night. Also the alarm light is too bright which is bad enough but when you press the snooze button, the bright Alarm light flashes continually for 9 minutes until the alarm goes off again... The volume control dial is temperamental, it is difficult to get the right level, crackles when I touch it and if it gets knocked (even slightly) it changes to ultra high or ultra low both of which are seriously undesirable. Need I say more - don't spend your hard earned money on this alarm clock!!
It's nice but the crackle sound worries me! October 3, 2007 Mr. P. M. Tasker (sunderland, uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The unit is smart, nicely designed, and I love the projection which can be rotated to any angle you desire. The nature sounds are reasonable in quality. I like ocean and rain, they don't quite sound real but should be soothing at night. What isn't is the 4 crackles I get every now and then that can be heard above the sound if the unit is on (radio or nature sounds). I may be able to sort this though as its consistent. The noise happens exactly every 60 seconds. I unplugged it, reset it and now its working fine. Will wait and see if it does it again. Might not be so soothing at night as I hoped!
Great Alarm Clock May 6, 2006 Mr. A. D. Caunce (West Sussex, UK) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Great Alarm clock, with easy to use and program alarm and radio. The Natural sounds are good and I use these quite alot. If your going to spend all night listening to these well all I can do is recomend you camp out in the real Jungle. However the sound effects are great for falling asleep to. Excellent quality radio and wierd thing to point out but the wake up beeping noise is not the usual course sound however it is very affective. Projector is good to.
poor quality control April 12, 2006 E. Hegarty (North Wales, UK) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
opening the box, all seemed well. But upon further inspection the projector didn't work (displayed 88:88 dimly). Sound samples are... well they're ok.. they're quite short (10 seconds) and for some of the samples this means you hear the same noise every 10 seconds - when it's a bird noise or a particular cricket, it's actually anything but relaxing, actually quite annoying. that said a couple of the settings, rain and beach worked well. Sent the unit back because of the proejctor only to get another unit where the projector didn't work properly either (only worked upside down) The radio is excellent quality, but the dial is very fiddly as you can't see the frequency clearly - would be impossible at night! so you have to guess which station you're on - white numbers on the dial, or an illuminated dial would have been great. it's easy to use and program, just with terrible quality control - one faulty machine is bad luck, two - well that's just bad Chinese manufacturing and quality control.
