just my personal experience... October 30, 2008 Mr. B. Reynolds (uk) coming up for 2years; no problems; cuts well; battery stays charged for a long time on daily shaves; shaves close if you are fussy/out on the town! why pay the ridiculous prices asked for other flash items? buy one!
Disappointing August 30, 2008 Feeling rough (Sheffield, UK) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Philips HQ6695 Mains Rechargeable Rotary Shaver I have just returned this to Amazon. I bought it because my Remington foil shaver was ready for renewal and I thought I'd try a different model. Compared to the Remington this takes ages to shave, after which I am not as smooth, even though the foil and cutters on the Remington were due for renewal. Full marks to Amazon for handling the return so efficiently though.
Excellent Shave at an Excellent Price August 27, 2008 Joe MCMXLVII (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Easily gives the all-round close and comfortable shave that makes Philips vastly superior in my experience. It's the sort I can use while it's recharging so I don't constantly have to bother with top-up recharges (which can severely reduce battery life), and it costs less than a replacement head. The more expensive Philips razors have a better feel about them but I also like the feel of the change in my wallet.
Basic Shavings August 22, 2008 Paul B (UK) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I've always tended to use Philips shavers because I've found them the best, so when I had the chance to try out the HQ6695 I thought I'd be getting another good shaver. Well, it was, but the problem is that technology moves on at a fair rate and that's what lets this shaver down. For basic shaving it's fine. The rotary blades always seem to work better with me that the straight ones and it managed to reach all those difficult areas on my chin where you usually end up with the odd hair left. But away from the mains it lasts 40 minutes. Ok, so you're thinking who could possibly want to shave for more than 40 minutes? But add up all those 2-4 minute shaves and you realise that when you're away from home the time really does matter. Most of the new Philips models last for at least 99 minutes and also have a display which tells you how long you've shaved for and how long is left, not to mention when to clean the heads. On the plus side, the heads are easy to take off and clean and you can even buy a cleaning system for most of these models which allows you to completely clean the whole head system. The beard trimmer is also useful and does it's job well, though you'd expect it to. Overall I give it 3 stars in comparison with most of the better models out there.
Excellent value April 22, 2008 espero (Southampton England) 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have had one of these for at least seven years but three months ago it started to give a less-smooth shave (not surprising really!). So I bought three new cutters, 32,20. Months later the machine refused to start so I have replaced it with the same model, complete shaver 29.19. Anyway I now have three nearly-new spare cutters. If this new shaver serves me as well as the old one I shall be more than pleased
