5 out of 5 stars Want the latest BreadMaker? Get it for under 5 pounds   December 2, 2008
    Laura

Christmas is coming so save your cash! Why purchase something you can get for free or under 5 pounds.

Go to YourBreadmaker.co.cc and sign up. Complete ONE offer - I would recommend Gala Bingo (you know, the one Sharon Osborne advertises for on tv),as this is cheap and fun (and you might win some money in the process!)

If you really don't want to spend, there is a free Lovefilm trial.

All companies are well known so there is no risk involved- give it a go! I got my BreadMaker and many other things this way, so don't miss out.

I was a sceptic once but now I am SO glad I gave it a chance. B8C approved this system on their Newsnight programme a while back.

Many items to choose from and they send your gift Free of charge.

1 out of 5 stars Poor Reliabilty   November 25, 2008

I bought this machine because it was a Which best buy, and it certainly baked lovely bread. However after 6 small loaves the paddle drive started to slip. Amazon replaced it within 24 hours, but after 3 loaves the second machine suffered the same fault, ie the cogs inside which drive the paddle started to slip with a horrible noise.
I would not recommend this machine at all.
I am at present waiting for a refund, and am considering going for a Panasonic instead.

I bought this machine for looks and the drop down paddle ( had a breadmaster that made wonderful bread but was getting a new kitchen and so I wanted all my gadgets in stainless steel ( put my breadmaster in the loft n kissed it apologetically). The MR breadmaker boasted a drop down paddle( which never really worked ) 16mths later ( still under guarantee) it stopped kneading and all the recipes I,ve used before were disasters tried once more and it refused to work at all, discovered that tho still under guarantee it would cost me a 15.00 to send back to Morphy Richards and then the guarantee would be from first purchase. So I consigned the rubbish guarantee and their rubbish bread maker to the local tip and got my breadmaster back down from the loft and cleaned it and made a gorgeous loaf from it. I even x it and apologised so I will be using her from now on. Oh! I call it her cos she is amazing. guess the MR one was def a man, its balls packed up, lol. do not waste your money on this machine it won,t outlast the manufacturers guarantee, trust me I,m a reviewer for MR lol. Oh! don,t buy their new toaster either it is not worth the box its packaged in.

5 out of 5 stars fantastic breadmaker!   October 15, 2008

After making my own bread by hand a few times I decided to buy a bread maker, just for the sake of saving some time. Fresh, yummy bread being very important to us French people...So after looking in a few shops we decided to go for the Morphy Richards 48268 breadmaker. Well it has not disappointed. We use it on the French bread setting for the most part and the bread is truly delicious. The paddle does drop down at the end of the cycle, which then only leaves a dent in the crust after removal. I will definitely apply the advise of soaking the paddle in sunflower oil now and again, and only ever use plastic utensils with it. So we shall see if it stands the test of time but as far as flavour and texture are concerned it is a winner! Highly recommend.

    5 out of 5 stars Indispensible   August 24, 2008

I was not sure about breadmakers until I saw a report in Which? magazine featuring them. Not only did it reckon that a large loaf cost little more than 50p, but that it also tasted much better. This being one of the recommended models I decided to give it a try.

I was certainly not disappointed; the bread it makes is far superior to any supermarket bread. The only possible complaint is that it does not keep as well, or so I believe, the bread is never around long enough tot find out!

As for the actual making of the bread it could not be easier, just bung the ingredients in and the breakmaker does the rest; even the warnings about being precise when measuring the ingredients seem to be overstated, the bread always comes out well however casual I am about measuring.

If I have a complaint about this model it is that the accompany recipe booklet is rather short on recipes; but there are plenty of sources for recipes including the internet; and half the fun is experimenting with different ideas.

In con conclusion, this has to rate as one of the best kitchen gadgets I've bought.
