More like a FLUFF-buster! October 11, 2008 G. Wright (Dagenham, Essex United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Certainly good suction on this so-called 'Dustbuster' but it is sadly compromised by the terrible filter design! I imagine it might be fine for fluff, crumbs and larger particles but I've found finer dust will instantly clog the filter. I used it in an attempt to quickly clear some plaster and brick dust after drilling a few holes, which was enough to instantly block the filter causing it to quickly overheat and cut out. Trying to properly clean the small internal finned filter is laborious, impractical and of dubious effectiveness. So I hardly see where 'dust' comes into the name! As a result, I only use it now to aid cleaning my pc, which is about it's limit - in my opinion.
Tricky filter October 3, 2008 B. Seed (UK) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
The sucking power of this little vac is undoubted. My only real gripe with it is the filter. It's not only a nuisance to clean out (stuff gets stuck inbetween its fins, and needs laboriously prodding out with a cocktail stick, as just giving it a shake or a knock on the side of the dustbin doesn't do the job), but also it needs cleaning out FAR more often than the actual vac needs emptying. The result is that I don't use it as much as I thought I would, because it's actually easier to get the big Dyson out & use that than to faff around with the filter all the time :( It's also VERY noisy and quite terrifies the cats, who have learned to tolerate the big upright cleaner, so are not exactly scaredy cats. But, having said that, if the stairs need a very quick vac, or the cats have got cat litter all over the place minutes before guests are going to arrive and I don't mind having to clean out the filter at a later time when I'm not in such a rush, then it's a fine little machine.
No decent brush! September 12, 2008 Oscarleo (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Whilst I was pleasantly surprised at just how powerful this vacuum is, I was dismayed to find that it doesn't have a decent brush attachment. I have never known a vacuum cleaner not to have one. The picture of its attachments doesn't show all 14 items, so I took a gamble and bought it anyway. Luckily, my other vacuum has a brush attachment that fits this one perfectly. Cleaning some items of furniture will get scratched with the plastic ones - and so needs a soft brush. 4 stars out of 5 then for its power and handy other attachments, but loses one for no decent brush!
A Godsend! September 4, 2008 Suzette A. Hill (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Guided by all the previous positive reviews, I bought this product. The verdict? Excellent! It is easy to handle, i.e. light; very versatile with many attachments; and above all, the suction is really strong. It is so much better than the battery types. Quietness is not a feature - but if it does the job (which it most certainly does)who cares! This Dustbuster is handy, extremely efficient and very good value for money. Highly recommended.
Great bit of kit July 2, 2008 Iain (Bristol) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My wife now uses this as her main hoover - I still have to use the Dyson. It is a very good vacuum cleaner. We did have a battery dustbuster, but after about 18 months the charge was only lasting about 10 second, literally ! So I decided to get a mains version and I do not regret it.
