Disappointing November 27, 2008 S. M. Rankin This product appears very robust with its heavy glass jug and solid motor, unfortunately the collar between the jug and motor consists of extremely flimsy plastic and on mine has split twice in two years; inconvienient, annoying and costly!
blend November 12, 2008 A. Smith (england) Great all round blender, a little noisy but in terms of looks and build quality it's excellent. No problems so far
2 dead in 2 years October 26, 2008 Y. Appiah-poku (uk) i have had two of these in a little over 2 years. both died within a year. i agree that when it works, it is a great product, but it is such a disappointment for the outlay. luckily i bought both from costco and with their excellent customer service managed to get my money back bought a sub 20 pound one from sainsbury's which does the job.
Good but.... August 14, 2008 aeroscotia (Kent) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have purchased 2 of these from Amazon. Both times the gear mechanism that connects between the jug and the base unit shattered when I blended ice. It's made of plastic and isn't robust enough to cope. Other blenders connect in the same way but use metal fixings. It's a great blender but you have to be careful not to challenge it too much.
Motor died within two years June 15, 2008 Mrs. Natalie Humberstone 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this item in 2006 and used it during the summer months of 2007 (mainly). With the start of summer 2008 we decided to use the blender to make smoothies only to find that the motor died. Philips are unable to replace the item due to the fact that we know longer have the receipt and with the cost to fix it, we are better off just purchasing another blender. I have given the item three stars because whilst it worked it was really a good product. Don't lose the receipt and when the motor dies you will have better luck than I did. For the amount of money we originally spent on the item I would have thought it would have lasted longer than two years. Unfortunately this seems to be a problem with most Philips items. I am officially no longer purchasing Philips,
