4 out of 5 stars Great little food processor!   October 27, 2008

This is a lovely looking compact food processor with many uses. I use mine for cakes, chopping, grating and other. Ideal for making cakes and would be good for pureeing food too. Great for chopping veg finely, was going to get the chopper recommended by Delia, but glad I got this with a few more uses. Stores well in a kitchen cupboard. I normally do wash all parts in the dishwasher.

Only gave 4 star as perhaps a little small for some uses, same as other reviewers had to separate and do a larger cake in two. Also not so sure of the durability of the bowl and the lid, especially clicking it into place on the machine.

5 out of 5 stars Baby Food!   October 13, 2008

I brought this product to make homemade baby food and it was definitely a good purchase. I have successfully blended vegetables, meat and fruit. I have only used the food processer blade and not sure I will use the others but it's always handy to have. The product is also compact and looks good on the kitchen side.

2 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for   June 22, 2008

This is a good starter kit for those who might want a processor but aren't sure they need it or have space for it on the kitchen counter.

The accessories work fine, the blade is sharp and both grater and slicer work well. They're fairly easy to clean (the inside of the blade is quickly dealt with using the handle of the scraper). The buttons are fine, though you're likely to end up using the Pulse mode more often, as it makes it easier to control the output.

Sounds alrigt, so why only 2 stars? Well, the main bits aren't all that easy to clean - especially if you do your laundry by hand. Stickier residue like cheese and potato mash tends to cling to the inside of the lid and corners of the bowl, and it often takes 2-3 extra wipes to get rid of these. Also, the kit is not very sturdy! Granted, it's a cheap kit, but within less than a year the safety lip on the lid broke, and the plastic of the well/holder inside the bowl melted!

Finally, the bowl is a bit too small - it holds just enough room for 6 medium potatoes. You *could* work it in batches, but the point of a processor is to save time and the moment you start to split your processing in two you might as well go back to the bowl-and-handmasher system!

The good thing is, now I know what to look for in my next upgrade.

Verdict: I wouldn't recommend this kit for anyone but singles and salad/coleslaw lovers.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Food Processor   April 8, 2008

I bought this food processor over 5 years ago and have just needed to replace it due to my silly husband snapping off the safety tab on the lid - it doesn't work without this.

It is the perfect size for many food processing duties and is fast but very effective. The bowl occassionally seemed a little small for what I wanted to do but then I just seperated the mix into two and did two smaller loads in the processor. The tools are robost and I have never needed to sharpen the knife tool at all yet it is still as efficient as when the machine was new.

I love this food processor so much so that now I am replacing it with another one the same!

2 out of 5 stars not very robust   March 5, 2007

My son recently bought me a FP116 Kenwood compact chrome food processor. It is very nice looking and is ok for small kitchen tasks, but I had it to replace a very old Robo Chef machine which was probably about 30 years old and that was so strong in comparison. I dont feel this one will last very long, its seems flimsy and very lightweight, but I suppose it was cheap and you get what you pay for.
