Like the two previous reviews I can only say this is a great buy if you want something funky, chilled and very brazilian. I got it as a present for my new brazilian brother in law but on hearing, ordered another copy for me! It's perfect summer music, really cool grooves, really good production too.. classic brazilian sounds with a few modern chill beats.. It's great and Sao Jorge' track (the brazilian bowie from life aquatic), is brilliant!

Like most of Putumayo's "Groove" series, the tracks here are a well-chosen blend of poppy fun with a left-field edge. If you find world music a bit hard work but still want something that's authentic-sounding and delivers a sense of a local musical culture, then this is well worth getting.

This cd paid my attention in a gift store - it was played there in the background and fortunately they had it also for sale. Now I have played it on and on again and it gives just so good kicks to my day: peaceful, cool, lazy and still energizing - like a soft warm summer breeze...
