Lovely economical design, but comprimises cutting June 2, 2008 T. Clarke (UK) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Their are many good and bad points to be noted about this mower. After replacing my good old Flymo after many years of solid use, I ordered this new model to replace it and was suprised at the great simple design that leads to fewer parts, less weight (its very light!) and a simpler operation inside the motor-casing. But theirs a flaw. While all this nice light plastic and and small design features make life (and the environment) nicer, Flymo have in turn made the blades plastic too. Oh dear. And to make matter's worse, they didn't even think on to making them out of a tough plastic. The result is that after just 3 months, I'm already on to my next set of blades. Though to call them blades is actually quite laughable; their just thin, long plastic-shaped pieces, not much longer than your index finger. And theirs only 2 of them. If like me you have a garden that, although seemingly healthy and lush, likes to grow lots of thick stemmed grass and the odd bad patch, this mower is NOT ideal. Yes the blades cut it nice and evenly, but depth? Not a patch on my old metal-bladed Flymo, which cut the crass down to the ground. It's a shame that a great concept is flawed by it's own design, but this is only in the case of my garden. We all have different types of grass, and it's fair to say that on a nice land with beautiful soft and thin grass, this mower would be ideal. But for some reason, we don't have that type of grass up north, so after this set of blades it's bye-bye Flymo!

Tried to use this before Xmas - keep the garden nice as frost hadn't set it. We have a high water table, it didn't work well - ended up leaving the job
Only just does anything September 4, 2007 zivi browning (london) 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
With its flimsy little plastic blades and uselessly short power cable, this tiny and not so very powerful mower is more of a newsence to use than it`s worth. It takes it about 15 minutes to mow down an area of 12x6 feet and it hardly cutts - more mashes the grass down. It spins quite fast relative to its size, but this only helps mangle its little, useless, blunt blades up. They need to be replaced very often and there are only 3 of the little plastic things in the entire mower anyway. If you start it up on the grass it has a nasty habit of uprooting it where you start it so it`s best to start it on concreat and then move it onto the grass while it is still running. It is ok if you only need to mow a couple of dozen square feet, but anything above that and I think you probably need to look elsewhere.
Ok for first time home owners July 19, 2007 L. Sefton (Nottingham, UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is perfect for those with small gardens who just want to be able to neaten up the garden and dont mind having to collect the grass! I'm getting fed up with mine though, and the grass tends to fly everywhere onto the path etc, so need a rake and brush handy to tidy up. I'm lazy so buying one that stores the grass for you!!
This flymo is mutton dressed as lamb January 25, 2006 mike (York, East Yorkshire United Kingdom) 13 out of 21 found this review helpful
This is a very poor product, quality of cut is poor for such an expensive yet uncomplicated mower. I have since bought an alternative product from a big DIY store for less than half the price and it works better.
