Glass vacuum flasks are much better... always have been September 27, 2007 Mr. Jc Laver (Swindon) 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
Not sure what happened to the market here but glass vacuum flasks keep things much hotter for longer why? Well the stainless ones rely on a design whereby the place at which the sealed vacuum cell joins the flask outer is metal to metal thereby causing heat to conduct around to the outside. In the glass vacuum flask the flask is separate from the outside material and the top of the flask has an insulated seal where the flask meets the spout and the outside of the flask... secondly glass is much less conductive than stainless. Hopefully the manufacturers will realise that we don't all need stainless vacuum flasks!!!!
Worst thermos I've ever used September 11, 2007 Andrew Porter (U.K.) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this a year or so to use mainly for coffee without milk. I pour almost boiling water in the flask to warm it up, then drain the water immediately before pouring in the coffee. The coffee rarely stays hot after an hour inside the thermos. Very disappointing. I'll have to go back to a proper Thermos.
It's OK July 10, 2007 Roy Stilling (Gillingham, Kent, UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Not the best flask I've ever used, but it does the job, and does look quite stylish if that matters to you. Given its cheapness I'd say it's good value for money. It's capacity is quite small so if you're looking for a family-sized flask, look elsewhere.
Very mediocre March 6, 2007 Mark Shearman (Bath, England) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I agree with previous reviewer who was found it useless for chunky soup. The lip inside the flask gets all sorts of things stuck on it and makes it very difficult to empty out. I imagine it's still annoying even if you only use it for tea.
I love this flask! March 11, 2005 Min 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
I can't drink cold water (yes I know it's weird) it gives me a headache, so whenever I take a water bottle when I go out it goes cold and I can't drink it. I don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner to buy a thermos to keep my water hot when I go out (doh!), but now I have it I'm absolutely thrilled with it. It's very light and doesn't take up too much room in my bag - it's great.
