well I knew I had made a mistake when I tried it out in the garage. All it does is blow the leafs around. I tried it outside and it was useless after an hour i gave up and went back to using the rake and picking them up. it does sort of work if you first rake leafs into a heap and bury the vacuum end in the pile. but it will still blow a lot away to be raked up again so DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Flymo Garden Vac 2500 Turbo My house is surrounded by trees, a gravelled drive and slate surrounding the house. All garden vacs will struggle with wet leaves but this Flymo has been really good. It is not too heavy and has a body strap to help balance the weight. Using the blow function I BLOW the leaves down the gravel into a large pile and then either vacuum them up or load into the wheelie bin. The blowing function also dries the wet leaves on the slate to either blow or vacuum up. This garden vac saves me so much time and effort. It is no fun brushing or raking on gravel and this eliminates that chore. Also, as a woman, I find it easily manageable. When using the vacuum/blower just experiment with the angle to get the best results.

I bought this to replace a Ryobi vacuum that frankly was not worth the fuel used to bring back from the shop I bought it. This has had good reviews eleswhere, has a reasonably powerful motor and the picture on the full description indicated that a small woman would have no issue with it. Which is an issue because this was requested by my wife. Now that I've had it for a while I can say that it appears to be well made and does suck up leaves and debris. There's a bit of a "but" coming now - they aren't actually that much use. I have a property that is surrounded by trees hence my need for a means to remove leaves. Unfortunately garden vacuums all seem to struggle with wet leaves - and the UK in autumn is not going to be dry and of course it all goes pear shaped if you try and use a vac between bushes on soft ground. As for the drive; well it's still quicker to get a stiff broom and a rake and just pile the leaves up and deal with manually rather than vacuum it. I will however say in some defence, that when the leaves are dry and easy to access, it does shred them nicely and can suck up quite a quantity before the bag has to be emptied. Which is unfortunate for my small wife of course. Overall this is the kind of product most useful for small patio's, drives and decking. Anything big will become a chore bigger than using a brush.
