Its alright but not great. September 14, 2008 Wilfiminia (Up North, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought one of these 9 months ago and like the title says its alright but not great. We do use it on a daily basis as we cook a lot and are already on our third set of batteries. This might not sound a lot but it has 6 batteries in. I feel it could have done without the light as to me its pointless. I never cook in the dark. It also doesnt grate quickly enough for my liking (probably why we have used so many batteries). If you have people around to dinner then I think it would be a nice addition to a dinner table and a whimsical talking point, however as a serious kitchen gadget it just doesnt work.
A Great Buy November 21, 2007 Ms. Kadie Creed (England, Kent) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am extremely happy with the results of this product. Motor and light work every time, used almost daily. I have read other reviews with regards to the battery life; this must mean that they are buying cheap batteries as I have still not had to replace mine in over 6 Months. My mother also has one and has never replaced hers either. At first I did not know how to change the size of the grain but this is quite easy once you know how. The only fault would be that it is easy to press the button in the cupboard by accident.
Best mill I have ever bought! November 5, 2007 J. C. Frost (East Sussex, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We have owned one of these for pepper for around 3 years and it has performed faultlessly. The light in the bottom also really entertains guests. The only downside is high battery consumption, but as long as you buy multipacks and keep some spares, you'll be fine.
Great mill January 12, 2007 Rich 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was given one of these mills 3 or 4 years ago for Christmas. It has been faultless, has almost daily use, and I change the batteries approx. annually. It is used for black pepper only, nothing corrosive like salt. The light is also great for those candelit dinners. Totally recommended from my experince, YMMD.
Great Salt and Peppermills July 29, 2006 Jools (Scotland) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
I purchased two of these mills around a year ago and they are still going strong. I decided to buy electronic ones because my hands were cramping with the manual peppermills. They are used frequently but not on a daily basis and I haven't had to change the batteries yet. You can adjust the small wheel at the base of the mill to get fine or course pepper but to be honest I haven't found a big difference in the settings....be careful not to turn the wheel too far or it will fall apart in your hands and it's a fidely job to put it back together. I have on occasions picked up the mill and pressed the start button by mistake but this doesn't deter me from using it. The light is handy when adding salt or pepper to large deep pots. If you are looking for a electronic peppermill which is easy to hold and use, sturdy and looks good then this is the mill for you.
