Does the job quite well February 26, 2008 M. Reis (London, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Didn't buy this from Amazon, so I won't comment on delivery or service. Having use it for several times now, I have to say this is a great non-stick loaf tin. The tin is quite robust and it seems as the non-sticking coating is quite thick which makes me think this will last longer than the regular ones (much thinner). The bread loaf always comes off "easy as pie" and I don't even have to bang in the bottom to make it looser. It also bakes the bread evenly and there are no random burn "spots". I was having second thoughts about either I should or shouldn't buy a bread machine, and having found a recipe on the net that claims to be the ultimate "easy, non kneading bread", I decided to give it a go and spend around 8.00 to buy this item. I have to say it was well worth it! The recipe calls for 3cups flour, 5/8 cup water, 2tsp yeast, 1tsp salt. Mix it all together, leave to rest for 18hours or more (no cheating here, the secret of bread is to rest...), put in the loaf tin, leave for another 2hours to rise a bit more. Cover the tin with foil, bake in a hot oven for 30m, uncover and bake for an extra 15m. Delicious! (You can also mix the flours, I have used 2cups rye and 1 cup wheat and it turned out great!) I'm not buying the bread maker anymore and love my loaf tin more and more!
