Excellent product October 28, 2008 Amanda Gould This is an excellent, sturdy, flat based, non-stick wok. It's quite heavy but this adds to the cooking experience because the wok doesn't move about when stir frying. Food cooks very evenly ensuring meat is succulent and moist and vegetables done to perfection. It's much better than my previous tefal one and half the price.Heavy Gauge Non Stick Carbon Steel Wok, 34 cm
DO NOT BUY October 23, 2008 A. Campbell (Belfast) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this wok based on the value comments left here...should have known better - you get what you pay for. I rinsed it, added oil and left to heat up for a few seconds, then added some chicken. A big ploom of smoke came off the pan and when I looked the non stick coating had come off the base completely and was stuck to the food- dinner ruined..(take it cant get a refund for this Amazon?) It would have been easy enough not to notice this (if u had a dark sauce in with it) and you could have poisoned yourself. Note numerous articles online re the cancer links of the chemicals used in making the non stick coating...
Don't Buy This Wok! October 10, 2008 D. A. Longstaff (Hampshire, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading the other review and noting the great price I invested in this wok after my old Tefal wok of 12 years finally gave up and lost its non stick. There is a reason this wok is cheap. It is heavy and seems well made at first but after a couple of months (used approximately 2/3 times a month) the food started to stick when cooking - but I thought no big deal. Now the non stick is coming off in the food and the remaining gaps are rusting. Amazon offered a replacement but it's so bad I refused a replacement pan! We cared for this wok and it just isn't worth the money.
Excellent July 31, 2008 J. Norton (East Sussex) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
My partner and I love chinese/oriental cooking and have been looking for a decent wok for ages. All the ones we have bought in the past have lost their non stick really quickly and who likes burnt stir fry???? Although this wok is heavy and I do mean heavy, it cooks stir fries to perfection, with no need for lots of oil. All in all a brilliant wok
