Amazon.co.uk Review Visual Home Deluxe is a handy little package that allows you design your dream home and walk around it in 3D. You could redecorate or extend a virtual version of your current home, or build a new home from scratch. Your creation is shown in both two and three dimensions and can be viewed from ground level or from the air. Walk-throughs can be saved as AVI video files and uploaded onto the internet. The beauty of this program is its simplicity. You can learn to use it in minutes, either by dragging and clicking or watching the Guided Tour. Sample files provide inspiration and demonstrate the program's capabilities. The QuickDesign Wizard allows you to select and manipulate RoomBlocks to set the general layout. Click the "build now" button and watch your creation come to life. At times the graphics can be rather crude. Many objects are based on real products, but it's possible to create custom objects by altering the size and texture of simple three-dimensional shapes. --Daren King

Visual home delux July 19, 2005 Raychelle (UK england) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I must say I've always enjoyed creating and designing things and did an a-level in graphic design. I came across this package at a very cheap price and I must say it is so easy to use, a similar job as some cad programs but brilliant for a complete novice. I really enjoyed the ease of putting together your flooring plan and then having the joy of viewing it through the air or first-person. The only trouble is, I created my perfect house, but there is no-way I could afford such a house with the price market for first time buyers nowadays. Still great fun, but I do enjoy the sims too for the same reason. If anyone has information on similar housing design programs that are more varied and detailed please e-mail me. I would one day love to design and decorate houses professionally. Overall though. a really good program for the price. a little jumpy when you bump into walls, and some of the decor is rather dated. but still good if you want to get a good idea of how to design your home before you buy your furniture and do all the heavy lifting and DIY.
Designing for Dolls House Bungalows August 23, 2004 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Do not by this software. The important issue of stairs is not addressed in the floor layout. Your design needs to consist of a collection of boxes ,either rectangular or square, which is not consistent with the requirements of the real world.
DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE! July 18, 2004 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
At first I was pleased with this software. Although American and thus the style of windows and other items were not suitable for the design of an English home, it provided a sufficient basis for planning and designing the interior of a house I was planning to modernise. HOWEVER, as I added more and more to the design, in particular kitchen cabinets and appliances, the software simply crashed and I could not retrieve all the work I had done. I re-started from scratch more than once and tried re-booting, re-installing, saving my project after every addition, but to no avail. I am therefore returning this software to Amazon as the only use for it now is to serve as a coffee cup mat.
Bargain priced software you can not go wrong with! February 13, 2004 18 out of 21 found this review helpful
Excellent bit of software....especially considering the price. I did not even read the guide but was able to work out how to put it all together. The visuals are good and the 3D side very good too. You can record your journey around the house and then watch your little movie! Rather than putting the whole floor down in one go, it was easier just to do one room at a time, though with a bit of reading up, a whole floor should be simple enough. Final words....good value for money and could be lots of fun!
Do not buy this unless you want to design a bungalow! March 15, 2003 102 out of 103 found this review helpful
At first glance it is easy to put together floor plans, room by room. Windows, doors etc are fairly simple to do as well. BUT: It is impossible to put one storey on top of the other, so you cannot get stairs to appear going down from the upstairs. You cannot show the house in 3D except as 2 bungalows with the stairs protruding though the ceiling of the downstairs "bungalow". It is impossible to get the help on the internet that is promised, so you cannot get additional objects and textures, there is only one shape of roof, and when we tried obtaining technical support we were referred to a phone number, then referred on twice. When we finally got through, they admitted that it is not possible to put one storey on top of another.
