As soon as you put the disk into your PC this is a very simple application to use. The information screens are very clear and offer simple instructions on how to create your characters,locations and the basics of your story. This is a great application for writing short stories, if however you want to write a long novel try a different product. For me this is slightly lacking in that department, however for the price, it's a bargain that will actually help you and more importantly, your novel.

Please note that this item is NOT compatible with Windows Vista despite what Amazon are saying.
I was very disappointed when it arrived and would not work.

First of all this is very similar to write your own novel-standard, in format and price, this is better in some ways, for example it has more information regarding structuring your novel, and story forming, and has a better presentation and organization to it. You are first are asked to choose from 3 types of novels 1.Plot, 2.Epic, or 3.Character based novels, then you give your novel a title... and it goes from there, you have sections to write down worlds your characters will visit and live in, sections on whos who of characters, then theres the chapters... etc
It does not have a generate name, ideas, or timeline section which are useful but not important, so if you can make do without these this is a better package than write your own novel-standard.

i have wanted too write a book for ages but am not very organisd so thought i would try this. it is excellent it has a place to keep all your notes and helps you order your book so it makes sense and is exciting. i am still working on my book but find it easy now i have this. the extracts of the writing book are good to it has made me want to finish even more and be the next jk roling. would definitaly recomend this!
