3 out of 5 stars Safety First!   August 1, 2008

Bought this to accompany my Rotak 37 lawnmower which i have been very pleased with but the ART 23 doesn't live up to my expectations from Bosch. The '23 trims well enough but i seem to go through at least 2 or 3 blades every time i use it, which is proving a hinderence as well as more costly compared with a line timmer. Also, wear goggles as the plastic blades can fly anywhere!
Battery life has been very good on a full charge.
However, in my opinion the lack of a safety switch is a serious design fault. Bosch lawnmowers are fitted with one so it seems strange to omit on other products. Its very easy to catch the 'trigger' when moving around.

3 out of 5 stars Does not live up to Bosch standards   May 25, 2008

Thought this was very good idea, as I hate pulling cords around the garden, so bought Bosch as brand has a good reputation, but went to use the strimmer for first time this year and battery is not holding a charge, and it was two weeks out of warranty, and considering it has not been used for the last 5/6 months this is very annoying, and the new battery costs more than a new strimmer, so will probably go buy a corded machine, and probably not Bosch, very disapointing.

1 out of 5 stars Don't bother with this one   May 6, 2008

It's a great idea, cordless and no string to mess with - but the battery won't last and the "widgets" you use instead of string are a hassle to buy. Don't waste your money.

2 out of 5 stars Trimmer gets dimmer   April 26, 2008

This strimmer works well and is very handy for the allotment. But the blades break easily and are hard to find. I am disappointed that the battery has not lasted for even one year. It is cheaper to buy, if you buy from Argos, a new strimmer than replace the battery and that seems ridiculous, but I have a lot of blades in stock.......and is is comparatively cheap.

3 out of 5 stars Bosch Cordless Strimmer   September 21, 2007

Does a neat job, but a couple of issues:

    1. No Safety switch (press button in and then another button to turn on), like most strimmers / garden tools I have used. Managed to strim my ankles which hurt a bit!

    2. Blades don't last long and seem to be fairly expensive to replace( if you can find a stockist!).

Would I buy again? Not sure. You get good results, but above points spoil another wise good product.
