We have had an infestation since our neighbours had their garden dug up. Since this arrived the kill rate is about 1 a night, on the same batteries ( yes they are a pain to load, I had to get a friend to do it as I have weak wrists). Am ordering another as we have mice upstairs and downstairs, but this kills them so quickly and it's so easy to remove. On about 12 so far, and the neighbours cat thinks I'm his friend as I pour a mouse into the gutter each mornign!

I bought this product to kill mice, having read the previous reviews and having had very little success with other mouse traps. I did wince at the cost but it has been money very well spent. It has never failed to catch a mouse (7 catches so far) except last night when it failed to activate (I know because all the peanut butter had gone and it was buzzing non-stop when I tried to re-set it!). The manufacturer gives a 12 month guarantee and has agreed to replace it so no worries there. My only gripe about this product is the issue of cleaning it. It is extremely difficult to get your hand inside to clean it out so I have to use a tissue on a stick. Being electrical I don't like to use any water on it so it can be very tricky. I caught a slug (and a spider) in mine once and it was such a gooey mess to clean out, it wouldn't work again until it had all been cleaned out thoroughly.
The manufacturers advise cleaning it out with something like Detox surface cleaner sprayed onto a cloth first, but DO NOT spray directly inside as it can get under the plates and stop it working. It is also important to remove the batteries before cleaning.
Overall, a great product if you put it in the right place (along the mouse run), you get used to putting the batteries in but try to avoid catching slugs at all costs!

Originally intended to buy a mouse killer but reviews suggested that the rat killer would be more effective.Bought one a few weeks ago from Amazon and have found it 100%! effective.Baited it with peanut butter and in 10 nights have had 10 successes.Also found that rechargeable batteries were suitable(at least for mice).

Absolutely brilliant device!!!! for 3 months we've have been plagued by Mighty mouse and friends and we have laid down two boxes of Rentokil bate and also had the council lay baite for a 98 + VAT charge. And still the criters have come back.
I am Christian and hate killing any creatures, but the health hazard, smell of dead mice coupled with the dropping in me kitchen have made me become militant and develop a zero tolerance view on these vermin.
Within 2 hours and the use of peanut butter as bait. This device took out its first target. So far so good would definately recommend this product to anyone who has this problem.

I have just purchased this and have noticed that the box says "indoor use only"... is this correct? I cant rate the product yet,as i have just placed it in the garden. will feedback once i have hopefully got rid of those damn rats... I dont know about anyone else, but I have a serious problem with them..I think i have a phobia.. but i am the only man in the house and I have to deal with them! Damn! 3 STARS because i am optimistic and the batteries were not too difficult to insert. i just hope it works.
updated 08 Jul 08- Well i have used this product for over a month.. nothing yet.. its good at killing slugs..but thats it at the moment.
