SMOKY QUARTZ, BLACK TOURMALINE & TURQUOISE
Smoky Quartz, Black Tourmaline and Turquoise each contain a protective quality that add to their own special attributes. The energies that emit from these stones change the vibrations that are within and around the human body, alleviating various forms of negativity. This may be stress, worry, anger, hatred or acute depression. These energies work in ways that fulfil our own individual needs.
Mankind is coming to a special place in time, a jump in evolution. I feel that these crystals, amongst others, have been brought into contact with our minds and bodies for the sole reason of helping us to make that jump. Freeing constrictions and expanding the world, by allowing light to vibrate through our imagination and thoughts. Many people feel the power of crystals and even fear or avoid them. To these, the crystals especially reach out. Their message is 'Trust in the Light'. By that you trust in the Light, a strange feeling of relaxation will occur. Thoughts will allow light to move and expand into closed up areas, and the crystals will act as guides and teachers, carrying through to meditation, visualisation, healing light-channeling and advanced light-work. As crystals emerge new areas of understanding and innovations are created. Doors in the mind of the Universe are opened and new stars reflect upon our worlds. A progression of time-light that affects all living energies.
Smoky Quartz is a beautiful, brilliant crystal. It ranges from the lightest to darkest of greys, magical colours of invisibility. It is found, very often, with a brown to green tinge to it, which accentuates its qualities in different ways. Calling, perhaps, on different earth energies. When it is yellow brown in colour it is called a Cairngorm and is generally faceted and set in jewellery to be worn as a talisman. Beneficial effects are felt as more than one chakra of the body is involved. Natural Smoky Quartz is a grounder and balancer, protecting to the mind and body and giving to both a sense of reassurance. Man-assisted irradiated crystals may be brought back into harmony and alignment by submerging them in sea salt for st least seven days. Then wash and cleanse in the normal way. The vibrations will be found to have settled into a more natural pattern. Smoky Quartz is one of the brightest of the dark stones. It transmits a great deal of light into the body, and as it grounds and balances it helps to purify the base character. This is very important as it affects the way we act in life and also our motives. It does this by drawing negativity into itself, transmuting and sending it back out as pure, positive light. Like garnets, it increases the instinct of survival and joy of living. It is invaluable for those who feel tired, fatigued with life in general, ungrounded, spaced out, depressed and beset with negative attitudes and problems. I have seen the worst fears of people vanish within a few days of carrying this special stone. Worked by not only replacing fear with hope but also affecting the material world's reaction, by alleviating the stress in one stroke, Smoky Quartz helps to relieve depressive, dark situations by installing into them positive thoughts and actions. It creates the feeling that it is good to be alive. Uplifts and inspires, bringing about a willing and responsive attitude to life. It certainly adds incentive by taking away fear.
Smoky Quartz is an excellent crystal to work with in a psychic way, protective and true in its dealings. A gentle and exact teacher. Ideal for with high energy power. For pendulum work it will create a wall of quietness and relaxation, so hat solitary alignment may be worked in with complete trust of its connection. It has the added benefit that whatever is done might be worked without interference and in complete trust. I personally prefer Smoky Quartz for this kind of work although Clear Quartz is beautiful, lively, full of light and an extremely willing partner. As Smoky Quartz grounds, it stimulates and sends a light force into the body increasing the confidence and willingness to meet one's future work on the material plane. All qualities of positiveness are urged and from that 'Good Luck' energies. It is deemed good for meditations and a clearer of misty thoughts. In healing it is often used in pendulum form, rotated over the body as needed. This activates the healing and also answers questions. Particularly beneficial on and around the base chakra. Used on legs, ankles and feet. Brilliant for strains and broken bones and often combines with Malachite (a green stone) which helps to draw out pain, working on bone and tissue. It may also gradually bring about an understanding of why the situation occurred. Smoky Quartz sends its energy and its light into the dark areas of life and mind. A small piece carried does bring luck, but it is due to the change it brings about within the person and his surroundings.
Black Tourmaline is an exceptional stone radiating vibrations by deflection. It does not seem to absorb them but uses its electricity in a protective and shielding way. It is very alive and active in its energy and is an excellent stone to have in any negative or delinquent situations or harmful environments. Black Tourmaline not only neutralises negativity surrounding one but also helps to negate any within oneself. A large piece placed in a room works wonders, or a small crystal worn or carried will come to your aid if it is needed. The blackness within this stone carries and reflects pure light that will enter into unhappy and disturbed surroundings. Insecurity, fear, jealousy, anger, all strong negative feelings that eat into self are positively affected by the energy of Black Tourmaline. Used in crystal layouts (crystals placed on and held above the body for healing) anxieties and traumas that are deep-seated are brought out into the open. These have their roots within the base chakra, and will often appear in the patient's life as anti-social or disturbing behaviours, anger or depression. Black Tourmaline may be gently placed and further activated with light into the base chakra. A Clear Quartz will be placed at the head to bring a progression of light to flow through the chakras, clearing and unblocking. Black Tourmaline may also be placed at the feet, aided with Clear Quartz at the head, and a strong, reliable quartz crystal, worked with hands, above the areas that are to be helped. Knowingly or unknowingly light will be guided into the body. Other crystals may be placed on the body as intuition guides. I very often prefer Carnelian as somehow it does seem to help bring out memories. Pressures will move and re-live within the body and work up in the mind, helping to see in a visual and non-visual way the body's regression of the past. A releasing effect. Rotating a crystal above the affected area (or root cause) will release and lessen negativity. In most bodies a lasting change has occurred. The body seems to cling to old ways even though they are painful. It replays what it has learned to know. So we have with crystals certain vibrations, combined often with mind and light, affecting a dramatic change. It is natural that after a while the body's memories may resist the extended cure and revert back, but its memory of harmful patterns will gradually be eradicated in the mind or body by continuing working of crystals and natural energies, that man has rediscovered from his past. We review time as a strange idea, so perhaps it may be said that it is also a gift from the future.
Black Tourmaline is a crystal used in the darkest of circumstances. It shines with radiance that is pure. I feel thought transference of this crystal has a large part to play now, and in a loving, helpful way may be used in visualisation. This is useful in cases where persons may not be allowed to wear or have crystals about them. They may be confined by others or themselves in some way. This stone aids in self-awareness bringing into the mind reliable thoughts to replace old destructive ways. In the darkest of times it shines out like one's own personal lantern and shield, raising the vibrations of all around it, by using its own unique electrical force that emanates from within it. Growth and development will be seen to work in a beneficial way affecting the outer and inner worlds of man, and this includes the psychic levels around him. A true bridge when one needs to create a safe place and area to grow in.
Turquoise, very often called the celestial stone because of its colour, is generally worn to guard against accidents, unwanted advances and in certain instances harmful vibrations. It absorbs negativity and somehow puts itself before it and the wearer dissipating that negativity within itself. It is deemed a special stone for horse-riders and for those that have a sporting or adventurous way of life. Its colour is closely related to the sky and earth. The greener Turquoise, as found in Tibet, has a special female-like quality. Beautiful energy stones are found in America and Iran and Turquoise, although more chalky than normal, is found in part of Cornwall (the only place in the British Isles where this occurs). This local Turquoise is sought after by many healers. There is a feeling about Cornwall that when you enter into it you are about to be healed and I certainly feel that Cornwall has a special energy that works beneficially both on the mind and body. A special energy exists and part of this is due, I believe, to the pattern of the many crystals and minerals that are in and around this small area. Called the stone of Venus, its qualities create harmony and balance of emotional expression. It relates exceptionally well to the throat chakra, and placed on this area sends its vibrations into the vocal chords. The voice will gradually take on a more melodious and pleasant sound. Ideal for public speaking, singing, counselling etc. Expression becomes easier. Deemed to aid thyroid gland disorders, respiration and lung ailments, but I feel with most cases an added crystal or gemstone may be needed, as indicated by the root of the problem. Rutilated Quartz, dark amber or dark coral coming to mind immediately. Turquoise brings the quality of patience and helps to lessen grief where shock has created a change in the body's balance. In healing it is often used to strengthen the body, enhancing understanding and giving spiritual help and courage. An extra benefit is that it helps to ward and protect against the wiles of others, lessening unwanted and inappropriate advances, especially man to man. Protective for children who are at risk in certain areas and who need a voice and the courage to speak up against injustice and abuse. In some cases where Turquoise enters into a child's reading it may indicate this. Its third name is the Eye of Ra, and I feel that this is indicative of qualities that are held within it. It most probably sees and protects us from that which we do not see or do not want to see.
I have added another stone, Eilat, as it seems to be urging its way into this space. It is mined from King Solomon's Mines in Israel from the place of the same name. Its colour is closely aligned to that of Malachite and it has entered into history many times. An ancient stone, once used by priests and kings as protectors and conductors of thought and visualisational guardians. It is a reflector of the feelings of the heart and is combined with the lower chakras, reflecting within it the powerful energies of the earth. It nay lie dormant for years, but activates exceptionally quickly when once used, or met with expectant vibrations on its own account. The thought patterns traced into it remain with force. Eilat is a natural stone to increase and activate psychic gifts. Its special qualities also protect the unborn child, or the being that is yet to be. This works on different levels. It holds its own powers, working into the past and activating that which is yet to be. In healing it is generally used on chest areas and lower chakras, combined with loving gentle stones to counterbalance its effects. It increases telepathy and power within situations. A connector of parts to play, and in the past used to hold protection for the future. Perhaps a stone of destiny. Appearing when needed.
