Don't use the legs November 8, 2008 Ptarmigan (Anchorage, Alaska) This is a great toy--my grandson has played with his for nearly a year now, from age 1 to 2. The tunes on the piano are numerous enough and good enough not to drive adults crazy, even with repetition. The twiddly items were his early favorites for getting gratifying sound result from minimal manipulation. The blocks base makes it a whole new toy. From the outset, we saw that the legs were wobbly and could also easily envision him trying to climb on top, so we never attached them, just left the yellow base on the floor and it's been just fine. (also stores handily under other furniture). As the second birthday approaches, I would advise buying more Chicco blocks, as only a few are included with this toy.Chicco Basket of Shapes
Happy Little One October 23, 2008 Suzzie My one year old loves this toy. It is great for pulling himself up and cruising. The sounds are nice and not to loud. The piano section is removeable, which is nice for travel. There are however only a small amount of blocks.
Great for kids with special needs! October 20, 2008 Chasity D. Rollins 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son has Down syndrome and I highly recommend this table. I searched for a long time for a play table that had more versatility than all the electronic tables that are so popular now. I wanted something that had more than just buttons to push! I chose this table based on advice from his therapists--they all love this one. Gross motor skills: The table is the perfect height for my son to pull up on and stand to play. Also, if I remove the music and play portion of the table the height of the storage portion is perfect for him to sit up nice and straight to bang on all the blocks. Fine motor skills: There is a wonderful variety of activities for little hands/fingers to practice on! The piano "music" side that has 3 different modes which are determined by turning the pages and the "play" side that has a little mushroom that pushes down, a caterpillar that pushes forward, a grasshopper that hops, a couple of busy bead bees, frog and bug balls that spin, and a puzzle with three tiles that slide. My son loves to bang on the blocks although he isn't ready for the building blocks aspect of this toy yet. However, I do love that it has the blocks feature because not only is that great for him developmentally but it should extend the useful life of this toy.(You can order additional blocks directly from chicco by contacting their customer service.) In addition to all the developmental benefits of this table it is a really cute toy!! It is bright and colorful and I know that any other children we have will enjoy it too!
Great toy! November 20, 2007 Zach's Mom (Maryland) We bought the Music 'n Play table for my son for his 1st birthday. He loves it! He mostly plays on the music side, but I think he will like playing with the other side as he gets older. He especially loves to be able to stand on his own playing the piano. We just lean it against a sturdy piece of furniture while he's playing because it will slide if he leans his weight against it. He has even started "dancing" to the music when it plays. I think he'll be playing with it for a long time.
just love it.. November 9, 2007 Chin Jung (NJ, USA) my son is 7m. he just loves it! so happy to find this.. he plays with this everyday..
