My 9 month old loves this toy. She's too young to use the mallet part but she pushes the balls through with her hands. When the ball goes down the hole and out the front of the toy the monkey "dances" (turns from side to side) and music plays. The balls are light weight and easy for her to hold so she gets lots of crawling practice chasing them.
As she gets older I imagine she will enjoy placing the balls back in the unit, matching colored balls to colored drums, and start using the mallet.
My only complaint is that it's overpriced in most stores. I found it at Marshalls for much less.
