 cute but does not work November 3, 2008

I bought the same at Burlington but after a month use it broke down (the swing would not work, only the music). It was too late to return it, so as I liked very much the pink design, I bought another one at Amazon.com.
The day I received it , I built it up , just to figure out that , on this one also , THE SWING AND THE MUSIC DID NOT WORK.
I called the manufacturer who said they could not do antyhing for me.
I returned it.
Even if some say that it worked well for them, don't take the risk to buy one that does not function properly.

This is a great swing and my daughter loves it. As she has gotten older and a bit heavier the swing doesnt swing like it did in the beginning. It seems to slow down the heavier they are. Also the clips to set it up dont hold a heavier baby. If she pushes back on the back rest it goes down.

Pros:
Compact and light weight. Easy to carry from room to room.
Low to ground.
Small footprint for small living room.
Easy to remove seat and throw into washer.
Easy to reassemble after washing.
Music is calm, not overbearing or too loud.
Removable toybar is a plus.
We like the velcro hangers for toys, because toys can be changed out. Baby doesn't always have to look at the toys that came with the swing.
We like the different slow speeds for gently swinging baby, but still has the faster settings.
We don't use the timer function, but is a nice concept.
Swing never runs indefinitely... it will turn off after certain amount of time whether child in swing or not.
Cons:
Battery compartment is always falling off, dropping batteries on the floor. Not easy to reinsert the battery compartment either.
Seat is not proportional to size and weight of infant. Child ends up with scooped posture OR baby's head hits top bar when seated back farther to try to acheive better posture. (My baby is only 3 months old.)
Once in swing, baby's weight causes seat to recline, making it so that baby can never "sit" upright in swing.
Seat needs to have more positions to choose from for how upright the child can sit.
Would be nice if it had a gentle shaking/vibration setting in the seat, like a bouncy seat.
Initially gave this product 3 stars. However now the swing is totally nonfunctional, and company not helpful. Am now giving one star. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!

This swing is perfect for us. My daughter (2 mos) loves it and sometimes it's the only way any of us can get any peace. Very cute colors/design, I like the fact that the toy bar is removeable and the ladybug is adorable. The music is quality- a lot less annoying than the sounds on our full-size swing. Also I really like the fact that you can lock the seat: It makes it easier to get her in and out and makes moving the swing more convenient. Also, it stops itself if something comes in contact with the swing or if the swing is moved, and then starts itself again when whatever touched it is no longer there. This is a safety feature that our other swing does not have and it is nice to not have to turn the swing off just to stop her for a second to give her a pacifier. Plus, it's low to the ground which was a life-saver when she discovered her feet for the first time- she leaned forward to try to chew on them and tipped herself right out, but was completely unharmed as the fall was only a couple of inches. All the same, after that we appreciated that we could change the straps from a 3-point to a 5-point harness. Overall, fantastic swing... We LOVE it!
