    Product Description
Fisher-Price Smart Stages 3-in-1 RockerThe Smart Stages 3-in-1 Rocker Swing is so versatile, it's actually three products in one! Baby can have a ball swinging along at two different speeds, with five songs to soothe or entertain and a toy bar with two removable toys. The seat detaches for use as an infant seat to carry Baby around the house. When Baby gets older the swing frame conveniently folds and stores away for use as a toddler rocker. Not just a baby swing, this 3-in-1 swing is a swing that you will use throughout several stages of your child's life!

5 out of 5 stars Could not have survived without it   April 30, 2008

We chose this to put on our registry because of the 3 stage appeal. I thank God that we did because this swing has helped me, a stay at home mom, do so many more things around the house.

The reason I love it is for the way it pulls out and becomes a rocking chair. Not so much for the rocking, but for the way it is so portable and she can be snapped in there safe. I take her to the kitchen, to do laundry, anything. I also used that as her first feeding chair, when she wasn't quite able to sit on her own, but could sit somewhat.

As a swing, it was fine (I don't think my baby liked swinging as much as some others do.) One issue would be with the speeds. I thought they were all too fast, even the lowest setting. I never used it as an infant seat because I had a bouncy seat.

Overall, such a great swing/chair. And after doing some price comparisons, it is more affordable than swings that can't even convert like this one does.

3 out of 5 stars Not bad. Good idea.   September 27, 2007

My baby is 2 mos. old. Not a bad swing. I like that it will convert to a rocking chair for my daughter's room when she's bigger. Lifts out VERY easily for use as a baby chair (no buttons to push or anything. Just lifts out). I imagine this will be much more useful when she's eating. Right now, I use a different baby chair that lays back more. If your baby is newborn, he/she will likely fall forward as it swings. My daughter did, even on the lowest setting. You'll need to STRAP BABY IN and use a rolled up receiving blanket to support baby's head in this swing (placed in an upside down "U" shape around the head). This is because it does not lay back very far. Now that my daughter is 2 mos. old, she doesn't fall forward in it anymore. My only real complaint is the music. It's mechanical and "tinny" sounding, and repeats the same few songs over and over. I would've liked more song choices. She gets bored with it. I just play jazz for her on the radio that is near the swing, and I leave the swing music off all together.
She likes this swing, and even falls asleep in it from time to time. If you have a large breed dog - keep an eye on baby in this swing. Our Lab thinks that as soon as we put baby in this swing - it means she can lick my daughter all over the face. LOL. Perfect height for her to be face to face with baby. I'm sure that would be true of ANY swing (except those you can put on a table).

4 out of 5 stars Much better than winding   March 13, 2007

The only swings I have had experience with up to now have been wind up swings that last for 15 minutes before needing to be wound again causing a loud noise and the swing to shake. This swing is slower in speed than the previous wind up swing, but the swinging lasts through an entire nap and is very quite. There is no static toy bar, so moving the baby from the swing to her crib is just a matter of unbuckling her and picking her up. The wide seat base allows for a more natural seated position. There is no adjustment for the angle of the seat, but it is neither too upright causing the baby to fall forward before they have control over sitting, or too leaned back so they cannot interact with the room while in the swing. The toys offer just the right amount of stimulation for my three month old and are easily removed when not in use. The toys attach directly to the seat so swing with the baby rather than at her. I don't use the music so I cannot give my opinion in that arena. We have had the swing for a three weeks and have yet to change the "D" batteries with everyday use. Assembly was not difficult and smooth maneuvering from swing to chair is easy with only a little practice. A very sturdy swing.
