Very nice assortment of receiving blankets. Perfect gift for new Parents or Grandparent of a baby girl. They are very soft upon purchase and became even softer when laundered. Perfect for swaddling newborn babies or providing light coverage on a cool day. The price is excellent if you are shopping around! Babies can never have too many blankets or diapers!

I find that MOST "receiving blankets" (those packages at of 3 or 4 at any store) aren't good if you're wanting to keep a baby wrapped or covered..find something larger (make your own with flannel from the fabric store). They're all too small. HOWEVER, as a mom of 4, born in 5 years, here are some things these smaller receiving blankets are good for!
Ever had a diaper blow out while they're sitting in their car seat? You're far from home and have a nasty car seat-clean it off the best you can and then lay the blanket over the offending area till you get home. Keeps baby clean! Also useful when burp cloths aren't available! Good to lay baby on when changing their dipe in a public restroom...or anywhere. Cover for nursing (when they're small and less wiggly). Baby's sick and you don't have a clean mattress pad (because you've changed sheets several times already)...lay a few of these on the mattress, cover with sheet and you have a temporary matt. pad. Always nice to keep a few on hand, in the car or diaper bag...very versatile for those emergencies.

Over-all these blankets are nice, except that the white piece with stars, the color is just too off white that it looks old and poorly washed. You'll be ashamed using it and your friends seeing it that way. The other pinks with white stripes are fine though - nice pastel colors.

These Gerber receiving blankets are soft, generously sized, and well-made. They stand up well to allot of washings and still retain their size and color. I recommend this brand.
- It is now 8 months later. These blankets still look good and have held up well.
