The music is nice, the glowing is interesting, and the toy is soft. The main drawback occurs when daughter gets tired of the toy and the music is still going, I need to open it up in the back in order to turn it off.

My daughter is really attached to being held and had a hard time sleeping in her own bed. She had digestive problems since she was born - and had constant stomach aches.. I held her all the time and she slept with us in our bed. When I did put her to bed, she was not happy about being alone.. I bought this seahorse and WOW.. she falls asleep most times with it..

Originally I said (see below) that they (my twins) were not that interested. Well, things have changed already -- about 2 weeks ago in the middle of big time teething, I started to use the glow seahorse with one of my sons to soothe him when he was overly tired and crying. Now all we have to do is give it to him to hug and turn it on and he settles down and stops crying fairly soon after.
My twin boys are just turning 7 months and they are not very interested in this. They have a Baby Einstein crib mobile (resembles a fish tank and plays music) that they both seem to really like but they haven't taken to these. I think they will probably like them (they both have one) a bit better when they are a little bit older.

We bought this after many glowing reviews from friends. THe way they talked about it seemed over the top to me, but it looked cute and I figured that the price was reasonable enough to justify it. Well it got here this afternoon and my 4 month old son is in love with it. The sounds are really lovely and soothing. He keeps looking at it and smiling. The sounds last for about 5 minutes, but it is easy to turn off, just tap its tummy the same way you do to turn it on! I love how you can adjust how loud it is, too-- louder for during the day and softer for when it is bed time.
This is the very first night that my son has gone to bed on his own, without being nursed to sleep. Normally if we try that he screams to be picked up. This time, we put him in his bed, turned on the seahorse, and we haven't heard a sound for the last hour! Even if it only works this one time, that's worth the price to me!

i bought this for my niece when she was one month old. she actually reacted to it and was fascinated by it.
the volume control helps a lot as you can change it when you don't want the whole house listening to it at night.
it's a nice toy especially since at this stage in their lives the options are kinda limited when it comes to toys
