a godsend in a pinch July 23, 2008 Ellen Goodman (Chicago) I stumbled upon this at Home Depot of all places, as I was checking out. Wouldn't expect a home improvement place to sell cell phone chargers, but I guess since they sell every battery imaginable, why not? This can be a real godsend in a pinch, if your battery dies in mid-conversation and you are in transit for example. For carless people like me it really comes in handy because we don't have the option of a car charger. I highly recommend it but make sure you have the right type for your phone. The package comes with the connector accessible so you can test whether or not it is compatible, but just the brand name should be sufficient. Biggest complaint--it is not clear AT ALL which way the batteries go in. Usually it is very obvious, but in this case I was literally guessing and I did it wrong the first time. When you charge the phone the lights on the charger will blink and will stop when it is finished. If it isn't blinking probably the batteries are in wrong, unless they are dead. Also the device can get very warm while it is charging, but that doesn't seem to affect it. I don't use lithium batteries since I had many alkaline AA's at home and figured I would use those up first, but it seems to be OK so far. I am also not removing the batteries when not in use as it seems like too much trouble. Don't know if I can get more than 1 charge per battery set, but even if so it is still worth it.
GREAT - gave as a gift May 27, 2008 Margaret Durbin (Minnesota) Gave this to my sister as a gift... it is GREAT. She-who-loses-chargers-weekly can rely on this one as a backup. It's great for travelling and she can just throw it in the car. So far the battery life has been fine... but I sent extra batteries "just in case". For anyone who inevitably leaves the car charger in the rental car and the wall charger in the hotel room this is a fantastic solution...

Disappointed January 12, 2008 Don S. Waggoner (Sierra Vista, AZ United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my daughter as a stocking stuffer. The cord doesn't fit. I think I can make it fit with a little help from my dremel.
Good Idea. Poorly executed. October 24, 2007 skinnytoe (Midwest) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Works like it's supposed to, but not a very well thought out product. - Instructions say to not store the batteries inside the unit when it's not in use. So, where are you supposed to keep them? Loose rolling around in your glovebox? Why didn't they make the big blister pack it is packaged in convert to a nice little compact storage case for the unit and batteries? - Why aren't there provisions to store the connector cord? Couldn't they have provided a more compact connector tip that fits in a slot on the side of the unit when not in use? - Why is the illustration on how to put in the batteries on the inside of the unit almost microscopic so most people can't even see it. Couldn't they have put some visible arrows on the outside of the unit showing how the batteries go in? What could have been a slick little emergency charger turns out to be somewhat cumbersome to store, not very user friendly and not well executed.
