Broken product...great customer service.... September 23, 2008 RINGSFAN Would have been a great lawnmower if it weren't broken upon delivery. We received the first one broken and sent it back with a replacement sent right away. The replacement was broken too. Not just non-functioning. The way they are packaged must have caused the pieces to literally break off. Fortunately their customer service was fantastic and we received a full refund. Hate to leave a negative score, but the product was not good....service was incredible. Thanks

Parts missing from handle controls. Local dealer declined to get the parts and fix the problem because we bought the $530 mower on-line.

I am not the kinda of guy that writes a lot of reviews so I feel pretty strongly about my experience with Amazon on this. The mower arrived with the handle broken. This problem appears to be very similar to another review on this mower. Not sure why the mowers are shipping with broken parts, but this appears to be somewhat routine. As other reviewers have noted, Amazon won't take the mower back once it is delivered so I had to take it to my local Lawn-Boy dealer. The dealer was able to fix the handle, but I wasted a couple of hours of time and a lot of frustration resolving this. In addition, once I started to inspect the mower, it appears that it is NOT NEW as advertised. There was already oil in the engine despite that the tags on the mower and the instructions say oil must be added. In addition, the foam cover on the handle was ripped and one of the parts for the Sensa-Speed was stripped. Of course, because I bought on Amazon my choice is to go through lawn-boy or just make due with the mower. The mower itself is great. Does everything advertised. Do yourself a favor though, go to your local lawn-boy dealer and buy it from them. You'll have an excellent resource to fall back on if you have problems with the mower.

I feel like I'm mowing with a new toy. I have a very sloping yard and prefer to mulch and it does a better job than I expected because of the rating. The catcher is very easy to use when I do use it. It has always started on the first pull. When we received it there was a little piece broken that controlled the self-propel. After we fixed that it has been a great mower and I would buy it again. I've been mowing a long time and I would not trade this mower for any I've had in the past.

Buyers Beware I ordered this item and received it (Signature Required) Filled it with gas and oil as described in the manual! It took 20 min to start it! After cutting for a 1/2 hour the mower quit, it has no compression and will not start at all. I called AOL. to file a compliant, here is their response. Thanks for contacting us at Amazon.com. I apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with this lawn mower. We're sorry, but due to safety reasons, we cannot accept the return of any hazardous materials--these include items that are gas-powered, use propane or natural gas, or include a magnet--at any of our fulfillment centers. The risk of accident is simply too great. If the lawn mower needs to be serviced or replaced, we recommend that you work with a local authorized dealer or contact the manufacturer directly: Lawn-Boy This is completely unacceptable. The mower is brand new and now I am suppose to make arrangements to get it fixed or replaced when under any other circumstances this would has been swapped out for a new one or I would have received my money back! Now I am stuck with a $500.00 peace of junk. I am really disappointed with AOL and Lawn-Boy!!! Michael Horak
